Contains manuscripts and original photographs for her books and radio broadcasts, including Uncle this is William: A Woman's Unscientific Log of an Oceanographic Expedition to the South Seas (published as Exploring the Deep Pacific), Scripps Institution of Oceanography: First Fifty Years, and We Three came West. Travel files document her travel to Fiji and Tonga in 1952-1953 and her trip to Tonga and the South Pacific in 1973. The typescript of Uncle this is William includes photographs of Capricorn Expedition by John B. MacFall and original illustrations by Sam Hinton. The collection includes documentation of Raitt's National Research Council project, "Problems of the Underwater Swimmer in the South Pacific" and clipping files on San Diego history.
